Gamakatsu Circle Octopus Hooks
Sharp and dependable
To me, the most important quality in a hook is that it retains its sharp edge and doesn't loose shape under pressure. This hook meets and exceeds those expectations. It's more important for a circle hook to remain sharp than a regular J hook because it should set with the pressure exerted by the fish, not a strong hook set. These hooks are raiser sharp and retain that sharpness after multiple uses in corrosive saltwater. And although they are thin and appear as if they will bend, I've never seen one even start to bend, even when horsing in fish up to 40 pounds. Good solid hooks, my personal favorite for the time being. If the label says Gamakatsu, that's always a good sign for dependability in my book.

very good circle hook
I rate these hooks right behind Mustad hooks. their quality is very good, sharp points, they run larger in size vs the Mustad hooks so you may not need to purchase quite as large a hook relative to fishing that you are doing,

Best hooks you can buy!
I have been using these hooks for the last two years for stripers and blue fish, the inline circle is my favorite in 7/0 & 8/0. I snell my own leaders to the hooks and have leaders up to 80# for the blue fish. Very easy to get hooked up with a solid corner of the mouth set, point the rod tip at the fish and engage the drag. Few times I have lost some hook ups that were my fault and know it was a simple user error. I strip the leaders after a night of fishing, rinse off the hooks with fresh water, and snell the hooks with new leaders. I have not had one dull in me yet, only way I will toss them is if I don't get them cleaned off soon enough and they rust really bad. Every other brand hook I have used would rarely make it more than a couple fish before tip was so dull that trying to get a good set up to the barb was difficult, I was losing more fish off the hook it was driving me crazy! Since using these I have fought fish then had to switch the live liner on to get another pole quick, not once has a single fish been able to shake the hook even with no tension on it from the rod. Grab yourself a small pack to just try, you will be surprised how sharp these hooks stay.
