I really like the Gamakatsu hooks the more I use them. I have jigs with Eagle Claw, Matzuo, Owner, etc but Gamakatsu seem better overall in terms of strength, sharpness, and how that aids penetration on hooksets. I used these hooks to pour jig heads in my Do It mold and they don't fit like the Eagle Claws which are recommended, but I made them work.

As a guide,i go threw a lot of jig's,hundreds.So i decided to buy a hot pot and a jig mold and started to make my own jigs,i have tried several types of hooks and lost a lot of fish due to them being flexy or weak.I cant afford to have unsatisfied customers in this business,when i tried gamakatsu hooks i found they were the sharpest and most sturdy hook's i ever used,fish stay hooked, bottom line its proven to put fish in the boat.So for me it the only hook i will use.

Having close to 30 years experience pouring jigs and such, I can't rate these as that great due to the fact that you can buy the same quality for much less than everyone wants for these hooks!
I have only used these on custom orders and not one time has the end user been able to tell me why these hooks are any better than similar hooks from Mustad, Eagle Claw & others. The Mustad Ultra-Point hooks is superior to these in every respect throughout their entire line-up.
Summary...Unless you are married to the name, best spend your money on other brands.
