A:
Where we fish there a few Chinook salmon, but we rarely catch one as we mostly go for walleye. If you haven't used circle hooks you should. Seldom does a fish swallow the hook. Most fish are hooked in the side of the mouth. You will like them.

A:
By in-line, I assume you are asking if they are "kirbed" or twisted? The Octopus Circle hooks are kirbed. Can't say about the other versions, however. I have always untwisted them to remove the kirbing. I think the hook-up ratio would be better as manufactured, but I am more concerned about where the fish are hooked. They do fine, either way.

The Yamamoto "Splitshot Hook" is also a circle hook, also made by Gamakatsu, without kirbing. It looks entirely different, but works just the same. BPS doesn't stock them, tho I wish they would. Circle hooks are not real easy to get, locally. C&R

well pinfish grow to 12"
and the ones your using are probably about 8 or so
the fish ur going for would be best to get with a large hook such as 1/0 as the other review stated and you will be easily hooking up if the bite is on

We use a 1/0 circle hook for redfish and trout. This holds shrimp, menhaden, and mullet very well and really hooks the fish well!

what tend to works best with me is taking a strong swivel, taking 2 strands of your favorite braid, about 8 to 12in long, tie one end of both to the swivel then take either 2 gamakatsu octupus hooks and tie them to the loose ends of the braid. Then hook the bait in the mouth and in the back of the dorsal fin. This also works with round bend treble hooks but with octopus hooks the bait wont get as tangled up. This is my most effective way to catch flat heads. P.S. never plan to use a cetain bait set out muliple lines and let the fish decide.

Make sure you can use trout as bait. I am just wanting to say that first. but dependent on the size of your bait, I use the Gamakatsu 8/0 octupus circle hook for bluegill up to say 4 inches or so,

Sorry we don’t carry Gamakatsu’s G-Carp Method Hook at this time. However, the Nautilus Circle on this page will work, and our CatMaxx Baitholder Hooks are very similar to the hook you’re looking for. CatMaxx Baitholder Hooks can be found by searching for item number 38-420-007-29
