GLOCK® G19 Compact Pistol
My first Glock
For my 21st birthday several years ago, I was given a Gen 2 Glock 19. Nothing fancy, just a 9mm mid size handgun that was pretty plain. That was my first thoughts back in 1999. 13 years later, that same Glock 19 is still being carried, shot and used every day. This was my first Glock I had ever owned. I knew right then, I had to have more and this "disease" would never end.
The Glock 19 is probably the most favored Glock next to its counterpart, the Glock 17. Midsized gun holding 15 plus 1 rounds of ammo, in a small narrow frame, is very hard to beat. Small framed men and women love this Glock. Very light manageable recoil even with the most powerful loads. 15 rounds in a weapon that is not commonly carried as a duty weapon is very pleasing. This weapon is thin enough to be carried inside the waistband and not be seen. Its a bit to large to carry on your ankle though.
I have used my Glock 19 in IPDA and USPSA competitions. As a competition weapon, it excels well due to the light trigger, magazine capacity and ease of operation.
The Glock 19 is a very versatile weapon. Carry, home defense, duty or just as a shooter, you cant go wrong with the Glock 19.

My Favorite All Around Handgun
I bought my 19 last year but am just getting around to writing a review. My 19 is a Gen 3 and I have never had a misfire running any type of factory 9mm rounds from 115 grain to 148 grain. I like the fact the frame is slightly smaller than the 17 so I could carry as my concealed weapon if I wanted to (though I also own a 26). For self defense I don't feel under powered with a 9mm as I use a +P 124 grain Speer Gold Dot round. The FMJ 9mm round for target practice is a little less expensive than .40 cal. I've heard talk about the Gen 4 version of the 19 having problems with the 115 grain round with velocities under 1180 fps. Check out the web (You Tube has a lot of reviews, I like Hickok45) for more on a Gen 4.

Happy with purchase
Owned mine for a while now and this gun has never had a hicup. A good balance between carry/target. Impressive at the range, and everyone who has shot it has commented positively. Easy take down and maintenance. Some others have come and gone in my collection, the Glock is here to stay! I've heard good things about Speer gold dot self-defense ammo, and is what i keep around.

Dependable and Acurate
I have the Gen4 Glock 19. all three mags load easly with the mag loader that comes with it. I have shot mostly the 115 grain FMJ and have had no problems with it. It is custamizeable to your needs and feel. I would say yes to anyone needing a great shooting gun and small enough to conceal carry and big enough to get the job done with enough rounds to finish the job.
