I shoot a 65 lbs draw PSE bow that averages 275 ft per second. I use 28 inch Easton FMJ 400 at 10.2 grains per inch with green Nocturnal lighted nocks.
I just switched from the Rage 2 Blade to the G5 Montec CS because I got tired of the Rages self destructing after every shot. The blades on every Rage I shot were bent beyond repair. I was also not happy with the Rage penetration. I shot 5 deer with the Rage. The blood trails were great but penetration was lacking causing slower kills.
A week after buying the Montecs I shot a great public land 8 pointer. The blood trail was lacking but the penetration was awesome. The buck only made it about 50 yards. I had a perfect quartering away shot at the buck but he turned as I fired so the arrow hit further back then I wanted. However the arrow went in right above his back hip and penetrated a full 18 inches through his body into his heart and lungs. The Montec was in perfect shape and looked brand new.
The Rages shoot good groups but the Montecs are even tighter and really do hit right were my field points do. The Montecs are also very sharp and as long as you don't hit a rock should be reusable.

This broadhead shoots very straight. It's easy to resharpen. And it gets the job done very well!

ill start by saying shoots straight. got 1 bh that i've taken 4 does with, sharpen after every kill, spin it, shoot it, hunt with it simple. blood trail has been from lacking to excellent it all depends on shot placement not the bh. i shoot them from my hoyt alphamax & my barnett buck commander. in short, if they dont shoot like field tips, take your bow to your buddy and have him tune it, because something is wrong with your setup.

I bought these broadheads approximately six months ago and was excited because of the advertised sharpness. On my second hunt, it lightly rained. I went to the woods this morning and all three of these broadheads were completely rusted and dull. Luckily, I had one Montec from last season and was able to use it. When I got home, I called G5 to inform them and inquire about restoring them for future use. The service technician stated it was a known problem and recommended I use the Montec and not the Montec CS. She stated the guys at G5 use the CS because of the sharpness, but know they are not very durabile. Unbelievable to say the least. I now have went through a bottle of CLR to remove the rust and will have to buy a broadhead sharpener tomorrow to hopefully restore these $40 broadheads for use.
