Great Tool... Having a tight spinning arrow vs. a wobbly one is like a quarterback trying to aim a perfect spiral vs. a "duck". Before I bought this tool, I'd have to grab 9 broadheads and 9 arrows and hope that I could mix and match to find 6 combinations that would spin well. Thankfully, that headache is now a thing of the past. With the ASD, I can square off any arrow and it will spin well with any broadhead I have (it helps to use broadheads like Montecs that are spin tested by the manufacturer). The cutter has one surface you can use to square off the carbon before you install an insert, and another to square off aluminum after you install an insert. It's built well and it works great. works ok This is well made and does what is supposed to, but it takes some practice to be able rotate the arrow and keep it down on the grooves on the ASD. A bit pricey for what you get, but that's typical with G5. June 8, 2010
The G5 ASD is like a G6 I bought the ASD so i could build my own arrows using my dremel to cut to length. I did not want to purchase an arrow saw but the dremel wouldn't gaurantee a square cut. I ordered a dozen caron blanks, cut them and used the ASD on the arrow shaft and the insert. My groups have never been better. Not even with a fresh set of arrows from my bow tech, whom i am trying to cut out of my hunting expense equation. G5 did a nice job of making a good tool that will fit in to most accessory boxes, but a wider base needs to be considered in the next version. September 19, 2011
Good Tool This is well made and does the intended job, but it takes some practice to be able rotate the arrow and keep it down on the grooves on the ASD. But it is possible and still a good tool. The only other issue, and may help with the use, is that it needs a wider base area to sit and be stable. Also needs rubber type bottom material to keep it from sliding around on your table or work bench. Perhaps even a way to mount it permanently on the table. January 27, 2012
