There are other high-modulus graphite rods as tough and durable as the GL3, but not one of them can match it for weight. G.Loomis® Mossyback Spinning Rod's featherweight construction generates increased casting distance, greater accuracy, more sensitivity— and less fatigue than costlier rods.

Doesn't matter what you're throwing, you need to know what it's doing at all times. These special bass rods are made from a unique graphite blend, with very quick tapers that telegraph every move and flutter from your bait. The fast actions also enable you to use a shorter casting stroke, for incredible accuracy with very little fatigue. Each precision blank is fitted with AFTCO® Alconite® guides and rounded, super-durable composite cork butt ends. So light, so effortless, you may not even remember holding a rod at the end of the day!

great tube rods I use the 7'1" M for throwing tubes in Lake Erie. This is my "go to" tube rod for Small mouth because the added length allows me to cast farther in the clear waters of Lake Erie. Plus this rod is rediculously sensitive! I can feel the fish breath on my lure in 30 feet of water, it is incredible. It is super light, super strong, and will handle any smallie pulling its heart out! Great rod! March 10, 2010
Great Rod I have purchased a few G-loomis rods in the past, each one getting more expensive in price. My last purchase was item number 38-153-276-00 for finesse jigging with 1/16 oz. jigs. The rods strong point is the sensitivity, even in a wind, you can still detect small strikes. When I first took it out I was amazed to feel the fish picking up the jig while it was sliding off a dropoff to deeper water. The rods downside is that you pay so much for it, your worried about it getting scratched or beat up. That is why I would also suggest buying a rod sock at the same time. May 21, 2008
Great rod I have the Medium Heavy and it is pretty versatile. Weather throwing a weightless worm or a heavy buzz bait it still delivers accurate casts with surprising distance relative to the weight you are throwing. Plenty of power and backbone when the fight is on and is very comfortable on long fishing trips. March 16, 2014
my best rod by far ! I have had this rod for a year now and it's by far my favorite rod. i also have 2 other loomis rods a st croix legend tournament and a daiwa steez and this is the only rod i have NEVER lost a fish with it's a bsr 803 mossyback paired up w/a pfluger supreme 8030 spinning reel . a very light and sensitive setup. Good rod for texas rig?

Details:
I'm looking to buy a good quality spinning rod that I can put some 10lb braid and 8lb fluoro leader on and fish a texas rigged worm. I fish clear lakes so the smaller line is a must. I was looking at buying a carrot stix but it seems every review I look at mentions the breaking problems so I have tended to stray away from that idea. Can someone please give me some feedback on this rod? I'm looking at the 6'8 M

Hey Lefty,

The BSR802, (6'8" Med.) is definitely the best rod for your application you have described. I personally use this as my go to spinning rod for my smallmouth fishing, but this rod will have all the power needed to pull big largies out of deep brush. Pick one up, you will be nothing but impressed! Good luck

I have had three Carrot stiks, two broke and were replaced my 10 year old sons fish with them know. I have fished with the Carbonlite and New Abu Garcia Veritas on Lake texoma and both a very capable of handling up to 6lb smallmouths. They have great backbone and flex to move the fish and allow you to play the fish at the same time.
