G.Loomis® IMX® Series Spinning Rod's featherweight construction generates increased casting distance, greater accuracy, more sensitivity— and less fatigue than costlier rods.

These are the rods that put G.Loomis on the map. Crafted with super-high modulus graphite and re-fined to the highest level of performance, the G.Loomis IMX Series is legendary for distance, accuracy, sensitivity and strength. Did we mention that they're incredibly lightweight, too?

Guiding 5 days a week I guide 5 days a week and I only use two types of blanks on my boat, G-loomis IMX's and Shimano Cumara's both great rods but the IMX's are defentely in a league of their own. Great rod keep up the great work. January 8, 2010
g loomis is the way to go ! I have 3 G.Loomis spinning rods a bronzeback, a mossyback and a IMX G Loomis makes a great product I used to be a st croix user till i bought my first loomis and i haven't picked up any other brand rod since. the sensitivity is amazing. You can feel every little tick whenever i go fishing i always out fish whoever i'm with. I highly recomend the IMX if you're looking for the best all around spinning rod money can buy the IMX is it . February 4, 2008
IMX-tatic I love this rod. I have the 6'6'' Medium Action rod with a Browning Midas 2500 paired with it. This is an amazing all around rod. I have fished for largemouth in lakes, smallmouth in streams, and sauger in the Ohio River with it, and it works great in any situation. It's sensitive enough to fish a grub on a 1/16 or 1/8oz jighead, and strong enough to fish a 3/8 oz jig or spinner. The fast action tip gives you long and accurate casts and it is very lightweight, so you can fish all day. I love fishing with this rod, and due to its versitilty, it gets more use than any of my other rods. January 30, 2008
Not worth the money G loomis makes a heck of a rod hands down, and im not afraid to spend the couple extra bucks for the better quality. But ive had this rod for 3 years and just ordered the new legend tournaments by st croix, and they out perform the loomis rod by far. This rod is softer, and very sensitive, however the soft tip loses a lot of hooksets, unless fishing a weightless worm. It has good leverage for deep water fishign but other than that its not anything special. I would compare this rod to a falcon cara, a st croix avid, or a fenwick techna A.V. there all in the same ball park January 15, 2008

HSR9000S, I have this model in the GL2. And It is too soft. Wondering If the IMX has a stiffer tip. How does it compare to the 7'4'' bronze back spinning rod.

It is stiffer but not like the bronzeback. The IMX is more of an all around rod. Very sensitive but not super fast. The bronzebacks are faster for sure.

IMX's usually run stiffer then other rods, I have 2 7'6" 6-12lb and they feel significantly more backbone in them then say my Shimano cumara 7'6 8-16lb...When clients of mine ask me what kinda rod they should buy for themselves if it's an IMX i always tell them to go a size lighter and they are always pleasentely suprised with the backbone the rod has.
