G.Loomis® IMX® Series Spinning Rods
These are the rods that put G.Loomis on the map. Crafted with super-high modulus graphite and re-fined to the highest level of performance, the G.Loomis IMX Series is legendary for distance, accuracy, sensitivity and strength. Did we mention that they're incredibly lightweight, too?

I bought the IMX 7' med/hvy rod. I have used it for squarebill crankin' on shallow water smallmouth with great success. I have also thrown spinnerbaits and senkos and the sensitivity is great. You can feel every little bump and stick that your lure encounters. I absolutely love gloomis rods!

Both rods are very sensitive. I can fish in 30-40 feet and feel a minnow at all times. They are great all purpose rods that will allow you to go a little higher on the lure weight due to being popper rods, IMO. Fishing in both fresh and salt, they excell and are always with me.

The rod, not me. Wow, what a sensitive rod. I use it for river walleye and I would swear that you can feel them looking at it. Strange reel seat though. I hold it forward of the reel seat to get my index finger on the blank. I have over 30 rods of various brands and am always drawn to Loomis' sensitivity. I don't know why I buy anything else.

All I added to the G Loomis IMX rod was a Stradic CI4 with ten lb test fluorocarbon line. A # 2 Owner hook and a Yamamoto Senko and lets not forget Diamond Valley lake. Boy did the bass bite. I felt them and with a little line watching I was able to catch and release 12 bass that day. Not bad for new equipment. I am very fortunate I was exposed to G-Loomis rods and have been a believer and user for over 15 years. They are the only rods I use now when I go bass fishing. I fish for fun and relaxation (if you can say that with catching bass). Family fishing and also tournament fishing. Local bass club and amateur ABA, WON Bass, and Federal BASS tournaments. I really enjoy this rod. I would and have recommended it to fellow anglers. My buddy Raul bought the same setup and the same day I first used mine he was there too. He caught the first bass that day and he is sold on the G-Loomis too. Great fishing to all.

HSR9000S, I have this model in the GL2. And It is too soft. Wondering If the IMX has a stiffer tip. How does it compare to the 7'4'' bronze back spinning rod.Answers

It is stiffer but not like the bronzeback. The IMX is more of an all around rod. Very sensitive but not super fast. The bronzebacks are faster for sure.Top 1000 Contributor

IMX's usually run stiffer then other rods, I have 2 7'6" 6-12lb and they feel significantly more backbone in them then say my Shimano cumara 7'6 8-16lb...When clients of mine ask me what kinda rod they should buy for themselves if it's an IMX i always tell them to go a size lighter and they are always pleasentely suprised with the backbone the rod has.1 of 1
