G.Loomis® GLX Trigger Bass Rods
Performance bass rods so light, you can fish sunup to sundown--and you probably won't even remember holding a rod in your hands. G.Loomis has just pushed the rod building envelope beyond all recognition with this technique-specific series. The revolution begins with top-of-the-line GLX graphite blanks, specially adapted with precise tapers perfectly adapted to your favorite hawg-calling approach and fitted with the unique Recoil® guide system. These are perhaps the lightest, most resilient guides ever made, a hybrid blend of nickel and titanium that keeps the weight down and takes all the worries out of endless casting and retrieving. The ultra-fast actions let the rod load quickly at the tip, so you can pitch or cast on a low trajectory, using very short strokes for increased accuracy and efficiency. The power zone has been extended toward the tip, giving you the muscle to bring that big bucketmouth to hand. For out-and-out sensitivity, strength and control, it's simply the best there is.

Rated 1 out of 5 by HubCap58 GLX BCR875 SUX Busted 6" off the tip lifting a 3 lb black bass in the boat 40 bucks to ship 20 to return and 250.00 to replace because G Loomis say's I used the rod excessively. Rod was brand new used twice. I get a new improved GLX on my lifetime warrantee. What a deal ! Bad rod don't buy it 7'3 in Carolina rig rod that breaks lifting a 3 lber into the boat and Lifetime warrantee just means you get to pay twice for one rod ! October 1, 2012

Rated 5 out of 5 by rustybagel Best Bass Rods Ever! I have a G Loomis rod known as a custom blank. Its a custom rod that was made for me for my birthday. Its got my name engraved in it, the date it was made, and a picture of a smallmouth on it. Its really cool. Its just too bad G Loomis dosen't make Custom Blanks anymore. Anyway, you may think these rods are over priced. I will admit they are expensive, but there worth every penny. Very sensitive, and super strong rods. I paired this up with a Shimano Curado and its the best combo ever. I plan on buying another G Loomis rod ASAP. I highly recommend these rods to all serious bass fishermen. January 1, 2011

A:I wouldn't use a IMX or GLX for a top water rod. The rod I use for top water applications is the CBR783 Crankbait Series rods. I go with the 6'6" length as it allows me to walk the dog easier and it an all around better top water rod for me.
I like the action of the tip of this rod as I feel that on occasion if I set the hook too quickly it gives the baits the few milliseconds "I" need to keep me from jerking the bait away from the fish when I rookie one. The rod also has a ton of backbone so when you get into a large fish you have the backbone you need.
The rod is light and balanced which makes it a dream to fish with for extended periods of time.
