i have the mag medium and i fished it a few times and all i got to say its once u pick it up thats it u wont put it down. just awsome. absolutly awsome. feels great. u can tell its a loomis rod. happy fishing people.

Had 2 great days at Diamond Valley Lake with this rod. Would recommend to any one, sensitive and paired with Shimano Ci4 cant be beat.

The DS822 is very sensitive rod that I use with 8 lb. line. Not only is it a great drop shot rod, it is also effective in casting light shakey head jigs and grubs.

I'm curious what version people go with. Ideally I was looking for a medium light but loomis drop shot rods are rated 'mag-light or mag-medium".I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

if you want it for bass go with mag medium which realy means medium and the mag lite means medium light. this is just a terminoligy loomis uses.Details:
Just curious what everybody thought about the comparison. They have similar components, except the new series of the LT has the split reel seat. I own a St. Croix Avid and LOVE it, but this rod is sweet looking and I've heard that Loomis might be even better in terms of sensitivity. So what do you think?Answers

thats a tough question, cause i have both rods and its realy hard to make a difference since they r both extrimly good and sensative. if u like the split handle go with the legend tournament. you wont go wrong ither way.Answers

yes it dioes. minimum a 7 ft mh to h rod. in very heavy cover definitly use a h rod.7' to 7'6. for drop shooting 6'8 to 7' ml to m.
