I sometimes purchase old rods and reels at auctions and occassionly one or so will need an eye replaced or one is missing. These will allow me to fix up and use the broken rod.

The rod I have is a BassPro Shop rod and there is no thread winding on the current guides. It appears as though there is a sleeve that the guide foot slips into and the sleeve is epoxied to the rod. Do the sleeves come with guides? If not, where else can you get them? Is epoxy the adhesive material? Any help or knowledge you can share will be appreciated.Answers

I use plastic electrical tape that I carry in the box, it's a temporary fix but works.A:Â
I always carry a vile of hard as nails nail clear polish in my tackle box along with a spool of dark sewing thread, If you do not have the thread just use some fishing line. The hard as nail nail polish dose not take to long to dry and will hold until you get back home and fix it right. ThanksA:Â
Try the attached drawing. You can use mono or braided line that is small diameter (6# or 8#) preferrably, but larger can be used if needed. If you can, coat the finished guide wraps with fingernail polish or paint to protect it and keep it in place.I hope this helps.
