Frabill Wooden Trout Net
Not bad overall, great for price!
I really like this net.. I've had it for about a year and it has seen it's fair share of bush whacking and landed fish.
This net is very deep and wide for landing larger fish, and is very gentle on the fish once you get them in the net. I had some large 20+ inch bull, brown and rainbow trout in this net with no space constraints. Also, the price point is just right in my opinion.
I do have issues with the overall quality, but I would still say this net is worth the price of admission. I have had to repair the net twice; once to 're-tie' the stitching attaching the net to the wood, and once to repair the wood that split between the ply's of wood in the handle. Both were simple fixes and the latter just required wood glue.
I've also lost this net once, when my magnetic net release failed after landing a fish. Funny thing is, I have a picture with the trout, and my net is floating helplessly away down the Bow River. Thankfully, through a local forum, a gent found my net 10km downstream and kindly returned it to me! He said he was going to keep it until he saw my post and didn't want to anger the fishing gods! The net was a bit yellowed, but no worse for the wear.. I was amazed!
If you want a rubber net, and don't want to pay a ton, you will be happy with this net! My suggestion is to keep an eye on any maintenance before it get's out of hand.
