Frabill's Pro-Thermal Tip-Up has a special shape to cover the entire hole, insulating and preventing freeze-up—even at 25° below. Keeps slush and blowing snow out of the hole while blocking out unnatural light that might spook a shallow water trophy. The spool shaft folds directly into the tip-up base for compact storage. And its round, flat shape makes Frabill's Pro-Thermal Tip-Up stackable inside a 5 or 6 gallon pail for convenient transport. Pre-lubed with Sub-Zero™ lubricant for smooth operation regardless of the temperature. Color: Orange. Model: 1660.
Frabill® Pro-Thermal Tip-Up
Great for Pike & Walleyes
The only drawback I see is the short flag. It can be hard to see in deep snow, it would be nice if it extened higher to give more visibilty when set up farther away. I also put reflective tape on my flags to make them easier see at night (i'm too cheap to use the lights that clip on the tips).

Worth every penny!!
I now beieve I have about 8 of this exact tip up. First off they are worth the money just becaue of how easy you can store them right inside a 5 gallon bucket. With that and also with the built in spot to sink your hook into the foam, I no longer get out onto the ice trying to untangle everything like on the old stick style tip ups. Next the thermal technology definitly keeps your hole in the ice open MUCH longer than the old style. I have watched buddies chipping away ice around their tip ups that have been in the same amount of time and I still have open water. The last item on the tip up is the "built in tackle box". I will admit about half of mine the plastic lid has broken. The only thing I had ever put in there was one marker bobber per tip up anyway. (Not having this lid does NOT effect the function of the tip up) On all times where the lid broke it was under extremly cold weather (sub 0 degrees). To me this "built in tackle box" is really no loss not to have. I normally end up with 20 unknown marker bobbers in every pocket anyway. Overall the frabill thermal tip ups are the only one I purchase now. Plan on buying another 7 this year to make a round 15, as I often take out groups that have never ice fished before.

Very good product
I purchased two of these tip-ups last year as a gift. Last winter they were used in Wisconsin. The word I got back was that "you did good" and that they worked well and caught fish.
I was told that there is a similar model by Frabill that has a light in it. Maybe Santa will be looking at them this Christmas.
