Rated 4 out of 5 by very good This bucket works well - th batteries don't last very long on the motor, but otherwise good June 22, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Poduct Keeps live bait alive, It is also convient and easy to use. Portable, which is a plus. I have quit using my inboat live well for shrimp. This works better. May 7, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Bought the pump I bought the pump that comes with the bucket a while back. It works great. It keeps the minnows and other species of fish alive and well. I have used it in a cooler when I had some bluegill in it and it kept all of the fish alive and very well- almost better than when I caught them. It has definitely saved me money. September 17, 2009
Rated 5 out of 5 by The Perfect Bucket This is the most user friendly bait bucket system on the market today. The aerator system works well, and the bucket is large enough to store about a half pound of shiners for the days Crappie fishing. During the warmer months I usually take an additional frozen 20 ounce bottle of water in the boat cooler. Should the bait need to be cooled down, simply slide the entire frozen bottle into the bucket. Once I return from to the trip, the bottle of water gets put back in the freezer for use on the next trip. March 30, 2008

A:
It does both. Floats great, just remember to put it in the boat before you go trolling or else it will kill the minnows.

I bought the pump by itself. I'm not aware of it running on a 12 volt charge. I am sure that it runs on 2 D-cell batteries. I use mine a lot and I have had it for about 3-4 months. I have yet to replace the batteries in it, though, it is getting about time to. I hope this is helpful!
