nice net exept: I bought this net to use for trout fishing while in a canoe. Compact, space saver, and ease of netting are a plus. Problem is on the second trout I netted I had to cut a small hole in the net in order to retrieve my treble hook roostertail. Seems treble hooks easily embed themselves in this net and are almost impossible to remove without cutting them out. Love the frame, trying to find a replacement net that is friendly to treble hooks. I believe this would work ok with single hooks. Hope this reiew was helpful July 25, 2012
dont go in my canoe without it this thing is awesome. very light but extremely durable. stows out of the way in my discovery 119 and there when i need it. the length of the extension is perfect and i am able to push it in the water very quickly one handed. May 31, 2012
Functions well with room for improvement I use this net for river small mouth and it works well. It is quick to deploy and the basket has good depth. I have not had an issue with hooks getting snagged but only use single hooks rather than trebles. One complaint is when it is extended the clamp does not hold well and the quality of the plastic could be improved. It is a good alternative when I am by myself in the river and need a compact solution. December 28, 2011
Bad Purchase!!!!!!! this net is a hook magnet. i used it for bass fishing and treble hooks get caught so much and i end up ruining my hook. it would probably be good for worm hooks, though. August 26, 2011

The Frabill net is packable and is about 20" closed. Packs in the back of my trout vest. Only takes a second to open the net.

Net is packable and durable for river use. It's about 24" closed. You'll need both hands to deploy.
