It might lack a little durability, but it's a great net for small boats. I have a small jon, and I canoe/ kayak a lot on rivers. This is the ONLY net suitable for canoes/ yaks if you ask me. Haven't landed anything huge on it yet, but it did just fine on average sized smallies & bluegill. This net was the only choice for me, based on price, VERY cheap, and size (folded- VERY compact)). Well satisfied with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by OhSeeDee Nice net
Just bought this net for landing Smallmouth Bass. Do not know why it is called a trout net but anyway. Frabill is the best net manufacture so you know this is a quality product. The net material is very hook resiatant and the material and knots are not as rough as the old days. This helps with reduced damage to the fish during catch and release. It folds up nicely and the extending handle is great for added reach. Buy it.....

I was wondering if the netting is strong and small enough to be used to scoop out frogs and tadpoles from under bushes in ponds.Answers
A:
The netting is 3/16" mesh, very strong netting, should be able to scoop frogs anyway.Details:
is this net packable ? how big is it closed up ? can i deploy it 1 handed?is it durable enough for packing in to river
Answers
A:
yes this is packable. 24"x3" when I was in the river, I kept it at its shortest length of 24" with the hoop looked open, and hung it on my side, and it worked well. To deploy it more than 24" you need two hands. And yes,it is most durable for the river.A:
The Frabill net is packable and is about 20" closed. Packs in the back of my trout vest. Only takes a second to open the net.Top 250 Contributor
