great space saver This was just what I was looking for, something compact but easy to use and set up quickly July 5, 2011
folding net this net worked perfect for me on my last fishing trip. i used on my canoe this trip and plan on using it off my kayak next. if i could change anything it would be a more rubberized net material. this might affect its folding abilities tho.. June 25, 2011
Great net I had the opportunity to put it to use today. Hooked a 2-3 lb bass and brought it up to the side of the boat. Instead of reaching over the side to get it out of the water the net was quick and easy. It is small enough to stow easily in my boat and sturdy enough to handle a fish of this size. May 27, 2011
Best idea for a net ever. Very good idea for keeping net out of the way of other tackle. I wish other nets could do the same. Most nets are always in the way, can not be found when they are needed. The price was very econical. May 25, 2011

I was wondering if the netting is strong and small enough to be used to scoop out frogs and tadpoles from under bushes in ponds.

It will work, but not really designed for that. It might cause wear on the collapsible joint.

A:
The netting is 3/16" mesh, very strong netting, should be able to scoop frogs anyway.

A:
yes this is packable. 24"x3" when I was in the river, I kept it at its shortest length of 24" with the hoop looked open, and hung it on my side, and it worked well. To deploy it more than 24" you need two hands. And yes,it is most durable for the river.

The Frabill net is packable and is about 20" closed. Packs in the back of my trout vest. Only takes a second to open the net.
