50-foot rope handle
Weight: 3.5 lbs
Landing heavy fish caught from a pier or bridge can be very tricky without a practical net like Frabill's Collapsible Pop Net. The Collapsible Pop Net features a large, 36'' round hoop with a 24'' deep black polyethylene net and a 50-foot rope handle to reach down to the lowest tide to hoist everything from bull reds to whiting. In addition to flexing inward to hold more fish, the Pop Net's tough hoop also collapses so the net stores at 1/3 its open size which easily fits inside a standard 5-gallon bucket. Mesh carry bag included.

I have landed many fish with this net in the last year, so it will get the job done, real problem is when you are in saltwater anything metal will rust...... The ring inside has no way to really rinse off and will eventually corrode away. Also the net will just float on top of the water unless you add a little weight, this also comes in handy when it is windy or there is a heavy current. It keeps the net from pulling away or going under the pier. Wish I could find a better one that doesn't cost so much but I keep looking and so far stuck with this one. I can easily see that flimsy metal hoop breaking from corrosion, just hope it doesn't cost me another trophy fish.

In saltwater this didn't sink and the guys fish got away. The dummie we was on pier and he knew how to caught fish. After fish got away I said that is light looking line. 12lb was what he had. The fish was bigger. I had net but never used it before. He had nothing, no clue how he thouht he could land a fish. Add some weight inside the net before you catch a fish. Test this thing out. I got bag sand but never tested and didn't catch fish either.

Rated 4 out of 5 by FlounderTom Great net for pier fishing
Used it 5 times to lift flounder from piers with no problem after I placed 15 oz of weight onto it to get it to sink. As with all my tackle I wash it with clean water before putting away. But the tape keeping the 2 clear sections together on a black sleeve came off. I had to retape and so far so good. But salt water did get inside and now it is starting to rust. It still works well since I have used it many more times to bring my catches up. Hope it just lasts since it was a more expensive net.

Well designed and functioning product. It took a while learning now to refold it, but I figured it out.
