I read reviews about the jar sealers on the website saying that the standard jar sealer didn't work properly, but I found that the sealer worked perfectly. I don't know why the people who used this had a problem, I did not. The only time it didn't work was when I didn't have the hose seated securely in the foodsaver unit, but that was operator error and not the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ATLBrysco GREAT for Juicing!
My doctor recently put me on a diet that has alternating periods of fresh fruit and vegetable juices (with no solid food) for 15 days at a time. I had a juicer already, so it wasn't a major expense of appliance buying, but the diet required four fresh juice portions per day with each recipe making double servings.
Since I work, this meant that the juice would have to be made the night before or in the morning before I went to work (approximately 1.5 hours to make both recipes with cutting and juicing). Further, there was no solution for taking the juices to work, since air is considered the "enemy" of fresh juice and causes them to start losing their nutritional value almost immediately after being made.
While researching this problem, I stumbled across an article about sealing juices in airtight containers right after juicing - complete vacuum sealing would allow juices to stay fresh and retain the majority of their nutritional value in a refrigerator for weeks (in some cases), while freezing would allow them to last for months.
Here was solution to my problem in one wide-mouth plastic jar sealer from FoodSaver... I make my juices up and seal them in 2 qt. mason jars and pop them in the fridge. With an extended shelf-life, I can even make them on the weekends and then just pop them in a cooler on the appropriate day to take to work, for a day in the park, or (even in one case) an 800-mile drive across half the country on a vacation with the juice jars in a cooler full of ice.
FoodSaver saved my diet, my weight is rapidly dropping and my doctor is happy. Once again, my investment in a FoodSaver appliance has been more than justified and earned it's weight in gold many times over.
