FoodSaver Jar Sealer and Wide-Mouth Jar Sealer
Works easily and beautifully
I absolutely love this mason jar sealer. I wish I had bought one many years ago - it would have saved me tons of produce and increased the amount of veggies I was eating. I continue to be amazed by how great this works. My cut celery looks as good as the day it went in, even 2 weeks later. I seal a whole week's worth of salads and they never brown. I have found the jars seem to get too cold for pre-sliced or cut tomatoes, but everything else has kept well. I would recommend this to anyone who is currently tossing veggies gone bad. My friend uses it to seal just about everything she can think of from nuts to (frozen) soup.

I've had problems
I already had the wide mouth sealer and never had one problem sealing jars. However, it has been a different story with the regular size. I get very aggravated trying to use it. I have changed jars, used new lids (instead of re-using old ones) and still have problems. I have had less trouble using 2 lids, but it still gives me problems sometimes. I was also told to put the lids in boiling water (taking the pot off the burner when the water boils) and letting them soak. This also seems to help but I can't count on getting the job done every time. I never had one minute of trouble with the wide mouth one so can't understand why I have a problem with this one.

FoodSaver® Regular Jar Sealer
I had read about occasional failures with the jar sealer so I was very careful to follow all the instructions. So far, I have had perfect success. I have been drying most of my produce and putting them into the jars I have has been inexpensive and successful. I recomment the jar sealer.

Works very well
Have used this product for several months and it works very well. In all but one case, unit sealed the large mouth jars the first time. In the one case where we used it on a 1/2 pint jar, it would not seal until we took a queue from the reviews of the small mouth sealer. We used three lids, and it sealed on the first try. It was clear to us that the neck on the 1/2 pint jar was not deep enough to allow the sealer to seat properly.
Also purchased the small mouth sealer at same time. This has also sealed its jars on the first try in all but one case. In that case, we used the two-lid trick to get a seal on the first try.
