The wide mouth sealer works like a charm.... LOVE IT! Would love the regular size one too IF the GASKET FIT!!! That's the problem. Until FoodSaver fixes the problem, that size will be useless and a waste of money.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by Ginger1 Small Canning Lid Needs Improvement
I just bought your basic Foodsaver and find it is a great tool. I was very interested in the canning jar accessories and thought it would be a big savings since it is reusable. I tried the large jar and it worked wonders; just as it was advertised. Since I had a number of regular jars I thought that would be a good way to use the jars. The first time I tried it, it worked great. After I allowed it to rest, it went on STRIKE. Yes, it no longer wanted to seal. I discovered sometimes the lids were twisted. I am of the opinion the rubber gasket needs help. .

Rated 1 out of 5Â by boppa does not work as advertised
I love the FoodSaver bags and use them almost daily, but most of the accessories such as the rectangular containers and jar stoppers are very poor as they do not vacuum (except for the round canisters). It is incomprehensible to me that a brand such as FoodSaver whose bags work spendidly would have other products that don't funcion.

No, you have to have one that came with the foodsaver machineA:Â
No. I ordered my FoodSaver vacuum with the plastic tubing attachment.A:Â
No it sure doesn't.A:Â
No it does not. Had to purchase from a different place. Was not offered when purchased.A:Â
Yes, the cap is included. FoodSaver® Regular Jar Sealers replace standard Mason-type jar lids to create a vacuum seal that locks out air, the enemy of freshness. Not to be used for canning. ThanksAnswers

You use the flat metal piece...it has the rubber seal on the underside...DO NOT use the metal ring until you have completed the sealing process..then you can replace the ring or leave off..your choice...I prefer to replace the metal ring..just in case the seal is displaced (kids or animals messing around in hiding places-like closets or under the bed)..so I make sure the ring is placed back on when the jar has a final seal.A:Â
yes, metal top, with small rubber sealing ring attached, that goes onto the jar itselfA:Â
Yes you do use the "metal top" or lid. Put the lid on, then the jar sealer over it onto the jar. Attached with the vac. tube to the vac. (I use the "canister" setting on my FoodSaver machine.) When the machine goes off. Remove the Jar Sealer from the jar. The remaining "lid" is sealed. The ring can go on afterward but do not cinch it tightly. Just "finger tight" will do.A:Â
Yes. Use the Ball reg jar lids, and the metal ring1 of 1
