FoodSaver® Jar Sealer and Wide-Mouth Jar Sealer
Great Investment for an Amateur or Pro
I was looking for a product that was small and efficient and I have found both in this small contraption! I was able to follow the simple directions right out of the box. I have been sealing cases of jars every since. The initial experience was a bit slow... but I caught onto the placement and final seal pretty quick. Great Investment.

Getting your regular mason jar sealer to work
If you have a problem getting your regular mason jar sealer to work try putting your lid on, then getting another one flipiping it over and putting it on top of the first one. For what ever reason when you go to vacuum seal your jar it helps the first lid to seal. I almost always have to use this method with my regular jar sealer, but not with my wide mouth.

I had read mixed reviews about this but purchased it anyway and I'm glad I did. It worked perfect. I'm using it to store candy. I simply put the candy in the jar put the lid on, placed this over top with the tube hooked to my sealer and pushed the jar sealer button. Zoom it expelled the air and made the jar air tight for my hard candy and Hershey bars. I would definately recommend this jar sealer. Can't wait to figure out other uses for it.

We were in the midst of dehydrating sweet peppers, and wanted to put them up in jars, rather than vac pack.
These arrived just at the right moment. They really do the trick.

You use the flat metal piece...it has the rubber seal on the underside...DO NOT use the metal ring until you have completed the sealing process..then you can replace the ring or leave off..your choice...I prefer to replace the metal ring..just in case the seal is displaced (kids or animals messing around in hiding places-like closets or under the bed)..so I make sure the ring is placed back on when the jar has a final seal.

yes, metal top, with small rubber sealing ring attached, that goes onto the jar itself
Yes you do use the "metal top" or lid. Put the lid on, then the jar sealer over it onto the jar. Attached with the vac. tube to the vac. (I use the "canister" setting on my FoodSaver machine.) When the machine goes off. Remove the Jar Sealer from the jar. The remaining "lid" is sealed. The ring can go on afterward but do not cinch it tightly. Just "finger tight" will do.
