FoodSaver Jar Sealer and Wide-Mouth Jar Sealer
Life safer indeed
Now knowing that you can't use this for long term food sealing for foods like apple sauce or pie filling or chili and meat. You still have to do the traditional water bath canning or pressure cooker canning. BUT. This is exceptional for dry goods canning. Flour, Rice, Sugar, and so forth.
It's excellent for extending shelf life of certain foods like miso paste, Season soybean paste Mayo etc etc .
So I recommend it totally. Also it might work at times with the short wide mouth jars on dry goods but I've not had any success on with wet goods. So stick to the regular size bodied jars with the wide mouths and you cannot go wrong. Make sure the edges of the lid / jar is clean of debris / food particles. I'll write a review for the regular mouth jars soon. Good luck!

Jar Vacuum sealer
I have had my sealer for years
When I ordered the vacuum sealer for jars it appeared that the hose was included. I find, upon arrival, that now I have to order the hose. I am not happy to have to pay another shipping fee. Your site did not say the hose wasn't included but the box showed the hose. Not a good website as far as that item is concerned. I love my unit. This is my third one and can't find the hose that apparently came with my sealer.

New to FoodSaver
I am on a cancer diet and buy a whole lot of vegetables and fruits. I have been losing money with spoiled produce. I am unable to get to the store often so buy in quantity when I can.
I found the best deal on a new Foodsaver was found on the Foodsaver site.
I bought the wide mouth jar sealer first because it was on sale then after more research, came back to buy the Foodsaver.
I bought 1/2 gal,, quart and pint size mason jars by the case and began sealing salads - 5 at a time in the 1/2 gal jars. I also sealed a large ginger root in a quart jar and natural dressing in the pint jar.
What a difference. More than a week later the salads are still fresh as is everything else.
Even though the jars take up a lot of frig room in my small frig I will continue this process since I can wash and reuse the jars so easily. Very pleased. This will save me a lot of money in the long run. I watched youtube to find out how to do this. Very pleased this system exists. In the end money well spent.
