THE ONLY THING I CAN FIND NEGATIVE (after my fourth (4th) unit) IS THE SEALING STRIP!

this model is quieter than the last game saver deluxe i owned. may also vacuum faster. but i have bought several of these over the years and not happy with the life cycle. the sealer and vacuum strips are not robust. the vacuum function just quit on my last game saver deluxe, after about 2 years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by dryan3103 Great so far
Got this as a replacement for a SealAMeal that was starting to act up and not properly heat seal the bags. They'd get air back in them after a couple of hours. This new FoodSaver has twice the heated seal area, strong motor and to date, has done an excellent job. Very quick too. I also have the wide mouth jar sealer and it too has done a very good job. I dehydrate a lot of stuff. My job is quicker now and I don't have to worry about broken seals on my bags and jars.

after years of good service from my original foodsaver machine that was purchased almost 20 years ago we had to purchase a new machine.
We are greatly disappointed with the foodsaver gamesaver deluxe G250. this machine does not hold a candle to my old machine.
does it vacuum ? yes
does it seal? yes
Can you start packaging and basically go without stopping... NO
After 5 or 6 bags whether you are vacuum packing or just simply making bags by cutting to length and then sealing the ends the machine simply stops sealing and or won't even vacuum the bags.
Once you let the sealing bar cool down you can begin to use the machine again. This GREATLY adds to the processing time! It took us 3.5hrs last night to package 78 lbs of processed smoked venison.
I would NEVER recommend this machine to someone if they plan on using it for more than anything that would require only a few bags at a time.
Would I recommend using vacuum packaging for storing meat and vegetables? absolutely! we recently took lobster out of the freezer that I packaged 3 years ago, It was just as good as it was the day we put it in the freezer.
there was a review about the sealing/cutting bar change since the old machines layout. yes if you do the cutting and sealing the way the book says you waste just under 2 inches of the bag ( that's the distance between the sealing bar and cutter)
The bags for these machines even in bulk rolls are not cheap, with the new design you will get fewer bags per roll because of the new design.....coincidence? probably not. I cut the bags to length then seal them closer to the end. I also make the bags a little longer than needed and when we open them we cut close to the seal line, wash, rinse, dry and store to reuse later.
If you do not mind waiting to continue your processing then this machine would do OK I guess. For us we will be finding a different machine in the near future!
