I have had a couple of these in five gallon and also a couple 2 1/2 gallon versions over the years. In all that time, only one sprung a leak. They are very rugged and I put them to just about the roughest use one could imagine up in shield rock country in Canada. In fact, I think the leak was not caused due to physical damage at all. I think it was simply that the container was so old that it finally wore through a corner where it folds. These things are almost indestructible and the spigot works perfectly.

Very handy and easy to pack in empty, collapses down quite flat for stuffing in a pack. When full (I have the 5 gallon model) it's a bit heavy but the handle is sturdy enough to work well. Sits nicely on a camp table with the nozzle down so you can easily dispense water without wasting it.

Yes, it is pretty easy to clean. You might rinse out with vinegar and water-1 cup of vinegar per gallon of water.OR
Baking soda and water- 1/2 cup of baking soda per gallon of water
OR
Bleach and water-1 Liter (1 quart) of water to 2 tablespoons of bleach.
Make sure to rinse the container out with just water after cleaning with any mixture stated above
