I bought Fishing Hot Spots over the Navionics Hot Maps because of the price. It has some drawbacks though. It's not easy to spot humps, points, and ledges because the contours are all the same color. On Navionics the shallows are a different color. Also, not all lakes have the vegetation and hot spots indicated so you really don't get this feature much of the time. It loaded easily and quickly. Bottom line...I would spend the extra 50 bucks and get the Navionics Hot Maps for your region.

I purchased a Lowrance Mark 4 gps/fish finder combo to upgrade the basic ff that came with my 2012 tracker twx 175. It was a nice upgrade but the basic included maps did not provide the information I wanted like boat launches, area roads and better lake info. After looking at my choices for cost and features I went with the Hot Spots Pro Map. What a great improvement! Now I got locations of not just the boat launches, but everything else- marina's, hot spots on lake, tips that included info on suggested lure color, types and time of year to use them. I know some of the other chips offer this and more but too much info can be over kill. This chip gave me the best value- more lakes, all states ( non of the this chip for here, that one for there) and more then enough information to make trips to new lakes I never fished become more productive. It blended in flawlessly with my new gps/ff combo and I could ask for nothing more. So- if your looking for a decent quality maps, more coverage without over kill of data go with this one, it has you covered.
Photo's taken of my gps/ff combo with iphone 4s. Yes can zoom out more and in more. Just to give idea of info presented. Shots of same point- hope it helps.
