Rated 4 out of 5 by Must have when using bait I've been looking for something to use when fishing with croaker for trout and this fit the need. First trip I used it on was with my gf and she put her rod down for a while and after 10 or so minutes checked it to find a trout on there with a pretty deep hook swallow. This got the hook out in seconds; I used it 3 more times that day for all deep hooks and it worked every time. They trick is to make sure you have the hook point on the correct side as the tool has two grooves cut at different length to twist the hook away from the barb. I took off one star because it came with no sheath or cord or float. Still if I lost it, I'd get a new one in a heartbeat. August 12, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Hook Extractor These are great tools that no serious fisherman should be without. I wish they still came with the lanyard and holster like they used to because I lose three or four over the side each season on my charter boat. Perhaps that's why they stopped including them. It sure boosted sales on my boat. The use of this tool will save fish you intend to release. With a little practice you can even remove a hook from a gut hooked fish and send it on it's way. Pliers can't come close to this extractor. March 18, 2013

If you are like me, the warranty is unimportant. The tool is very well built and will last until a tarpon rips it from your hands as you are releasing it and tosses it forty yards from the boat.

Then you pull out your spare and order two more. They really are of good quality.

Lifetime waranty, I use mine in saltwater every day and it does not have a speck of rust on it. The only reason I buy more is when a big shark takes it away from me. My error. This tool is a must for every angler.
