The high-performing Fin-Nor Santiago Trolling Reel features a solid one-piece, fully-machined aluminum frame and one-piece aluminum spool supported by a machined, stainless steel center shaft that turns on four ultra-smooth and super-strong ceramic/stainless hybrid ball bearings.

The Santiago's revolutionary drag system was specifically designed to handle strong, long fighting fish and is big enough, strong enough and smooth enough to fish IGFA-rated mono lines or heavy braided lines. The Santiago's water-tight, auto-aligning multi-layer drag system combines the strength of stainless steel with twin carbon-fiber discs for the ultimate in smoothness and heat dissipation. A ''free'' drag setting provides complete fiction-free spooling with a powerful drag at strike, and extra power at full.

Every Santiago Trolling Reel offers two speeds for quick line pick-up and power on demand. An easy-to-use button pushes in for a powerful low-gear and easily releases for high-speed retrieves. The Santiago’s ergonomic handle knob adds comfort, and allows anglers to stay on a fish with greater control. Rated 5 out of 5 by Super Nice It looks like a piece of jewelry, but is built like a tank. I have two of them now (a SA25 and a SA30) and have been very impressed. They are basically improved Ahabs (Fin Nor's last big game reel before being bought out). I honesty think Shimano's Tiagra is a copy of the old Ahab--although not as nice. There's no plastic in these reels. Everything's machined. They have smooth drags and smooth gears. I've not used them enough to report on the durability, but from what I've read on the forums, they're indestructible. Although these reels are now made overseas, they are just as nice as my old Ahab.
