I have the OF95. It's huge and has a super drag. You feel that you could tug a concrete block from the bottom of the ocean.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Klintrock Spinning Reel for strong fish
These reels are great for spinning reel applications catching big fish. Gears are powerful and will not buckle on strong runners. Drag is also up to the job and easily adjustable for rough running fish. I like to load with 60lb braid and tie on flourocarbon leaders. If you match to a very good rod, you will never be sorry. The performance will equal that of more expensive. The only difference will be that it is heavier than those that cost 500 bucks.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by SEADOG902 WOW GREAT REEL !!!
I use this reel both offshore for trolling and on the pier @ the skyway in St. Pete., Fl.
I have no problems handling the big groupers at the pier and the kingfish when I am trolling. I really enjoy the comfort of knowing that I can spool 600 yrds of 100 lb. braid on this reel and not have to worry about being spooled out. try it you'll like it <(())<<

Sorry for my english , I am a french fisherman : I have 4 OFS 95 for surfcasting and I have not enough words to say how I enjoy these reels and their qualities. But I would like a little one for spinning from my kayak with lures and I wonder if these FIN-NOR OF reels are really able to retrieve a braided line? I have been so dissapointed when I noted that the FIN-NOR AHAB are unable to handle braided lines for spinning because they do not have this special double oscillation which is necessary to retrieve correctly a braided line.Thank you very much for your reply!

I hvae mine lined with 130 lb power pro. We were able to stop 50 lb amberjack in their tracks. I have no doubt that it will handle whatever.Top 1000 Contributor

The reel will pretty much handle what ever you toss at it. The rod is usually the weakest point on a heavy saltwater outfit. I use Shimano Trevala jigging rods with heavy braid for my offshore spinning needs. However, you need to consider how you're fishing as much as what it is you're fishing for. You may be better equiped with a stand up conventional outfit.Details:Â
