I bought this jacket due to my son buying one. I tried his on and though..hey this is warmer than my zip up jacket. I was wrong. It does keep you warm but not in 30-40 degree weather with the wind blowing. If you do buy and wear this jacket during that type of weather, you will need a layer underneath. Other than that, this jacket should provide enough warmth on its own during a day in the woods for scouting or just wearing it out and about town.
It is a an okay buy but there are better jackets out there that will keep you warmer for about the same price.
