I have only used the Fenwick Methods travel rod once so far but it did fulfill the purpose very nicely. I really like the fact that you get 2 rods in 1 package. It is a bit heavier than the 1 piece rods that I am used to but that should be expected in a multi piece rod. Something that I would also like to see from Fenwick is a nice reel carrying case to go with the travel rod case. The travel rod case is very nice but then you need someway to transport the reel safely as well.

I purchased this rod due to its versatility and price. The reputation of Fenwick is well known and I have several of their older rods. One of the rod segments fractured very quickly after about 5 casts. Luckily I still had another segment to use. So based upon this experience I returned the rod.

Used this rod for 7 days while fishing on a remote fly in lake in NW Ontario. The rod was the perfect solution to avoiding flying with a rod tube and encountering extra baggage fees. The rod met every need while fishing for walleye, smallmouth, and northern pike. Stout enough to handle a 30" pike while agile enough to handle a walleye.
The extra tip and mid sections gave great assurance that a broken tip would never shut down fishing. Brought both this rod and the Fenwick Methods Bait Cast Rod on the trip. Could tell no significant difference in performance between these rods and a one-piece.
