I used to shoot these all the time. I will be changing manufacturers for sure. The last box I bought was after the ammo craziness of 2013. I was shooting all over the paper at 300 yards when I used to touch 3 shots together. After examining the rounds that were left, there were 2 different primers, two different crimp styles, and could see visually not one bullet was seated at the same depth. I understand they have to kick ammo out like mad right now, but Id prefer a rise in price over decline in quality. Ill be shooting Hornadys from here. Its time to get some reloading equipment.

I purchased this ammo for my Marlin 30-30 when my normal ammo was not available due to the great ammo shortage of 2013. It proved to be very accurate so i bought more for my 30-06 and 375 h&h mag. I would have given it 5 stars but have yet to try on deer so. I'll update my review after 2013 deer season. my order was correct and shipping was fast as always!

This ammo had nice groupings from my old Marlin 336 30-30. The Federal outperformed the old Remington ammo I had by a long shot. Can't beat the knock down power of this stuff. Easily took out a 100+ lb hog from over 110 yards. One shot to the neck, it went down quickly and cleanly.
Oh I am sure the Z Max/ LeveRevolution from Hornaday has better long range performance, but for where I shoot I only need about 100- 115 yards so I don't need the extra cost of the Hornaday (they make great ammo by the way) but for the price Federal Premium more than gets the job done.

I had a one shot kill on a whitetail buck. The bullet entered the neck and his the spine causing bone splinters and I found the bullet one the opposite side of the neck just under the skin.
