  • Specially designed for home protection
  • Expanding polymer
  • Large frontal expansion through barriers
  • High velocity with low recoil
  • Non-hollow-point design
  • EFMJ (expanding full metal jacket) construction
Designed specifically for home defense, Federal Premium Guard Dog Home Defense Ammo rounds are filled with an expanding polymer that minimizes over penetration through interior walls to help eliminate accidental injury to bystanders in other rooms or houses. Guard Dog ammo rounds open when they contact surfaces which allows them to slow and stop faster. Featuring EFMJ (expanding full metal jacket) construction, the high velocity, low recoil, and reliable feeding properties of this ammo makes it a perfect choice for defending home and family.
Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Reliable, dependable I have used Guard Dog ammo in my Springfield Armory, Glock, and Wilson Combat pistols with barrel lengths from 3" to 5". Had zero problems with feeding, firing, ejecting, and hitting the target!! I use .45acp Guard Dog ammo for my first line defense of my home and self ...........Good Dog, good dog... March 4, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Too expensive! I would never pay $27 for 20 rounds, not even hollow points. I made this purchase due to BPS not having stock on any other type of 9mm round. I would not recommend this purchase to anyone I care about. Gotta keep fighting legislation and get rid of this anti-gun project that President Obama is running! October 23, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Bark with Bite Superb performance! I live in a condo and this is ideal for controlled penetration and use in confined spaces. Gun Tests Magazine brought my attention to this new concept in defense ammunition. Thank you Bass Pro for stocking this product. October 22, 2013

Details:
I have a colt defender. The gun doesnot like hollow points so im looking for a personal protection round that will feed with out jaming. So far ball ammo is all i've been able to shoot out of the gun. Does the Guard Dog ammo have a flat nose (which may cause it to hang in my gun)?
Thank you

It does have a flat nose, however I have never had a problem with feeding in Glock, Springfield Armory, Kimber, and Wilson Combat pistols...I don't own a Colt so I have no experience there.

I gotta be honest. I am not a fan of defending ammo becuase all it is expensive hollow point. If I was you I would just find a cheap 20 box of hollow point and you will rock. Besides even with a FMJ if I hit someone they are not going to keep comming becuase I am going to unload a mag on them.
