Federal Premium® Fusion® Rifle Ammo
I use this in my 223 and 25-06. Its the best shooting ammo I have used. Shots the closest patterns I have seen. Federal sure did do their homework on this bullet. Its all I will use from here on out.

1 shot, no kill
So, I use a Rem 700 25-06 for deer. I decided to pick up a couple box's of these fusion rounds because of the positive reviews I was reading. I shot a box just to see how they performed and I thought they did just fine. Nothing out of the ordinary.
Deer season came around and I had a beautiful Black-Tail buck staring at me only about 60yrds away. I took a shot, heard a strange noise that didn't sound normal, and then the buck just bounced away. I couldn't believe it. I'm not sure if this was a half loaded round or what happened. No blood... nothing. I would not miss at this range. I re-created the shot (to clear doubt in myself) with more distance and using a bottle and I nailed it with the next round. I will never buy these rounds again since they cost me a nice buck this year.
Another note on these rounds... I have never had rounds that would corrode this bad. I threw a few rounds out because I didnt even want to load them in my clip or rifle. It rains a lot up here in the NW, but i've never had rounds do that. I keep good care of my equipment.
I am happy for those of you that have had a good experience with this brand, but my experience was extremely frustrating.

I have used these in my .270 win and 6.5x55 to kill everything from wolves to moose and have found them to be an excellent bullets. The 130 grain bullets generally provide quick kills on deer, get more penetration than you will ever need for deer, and leave small exit wounds. I've seen 9 deer killed with these bullets and have yet to recover a bullet, even on very steep quartering shots. The heavyer bullets get enough penetration to take far bigger game. They have shot well in every rifle I have tried them in.

I shoot this ammo (165 grain) out of my Remington 700 SPS 30-06. For a deer rifle this ammo is very accurate. I can put three bullets down range (100yds) touching with ease. When shooting Remington core lokts I would be happy with 4-5 inch groups. I have friends that shoot them with their .270 and they love em too. Federal has rebates from Aug 1 - Dec 31 every year, which makes them about the cheapest bullet to shoot short of reloads. I recommend these to everyone I know.
