these shells are dirtier in your gun and it shows the shell does do what it is ment to which is take down your duck or goose but its not needed to pay extra for a different flight stopper pellet it really doesnt make that much difference

Used these high velocity #4s today on Lake Ontario for divers. I limited out with 4 oldsquaws, 2 buffleheads, and a scoter. While they may be dirtier than some other shells like all Blackcloud, they kill birds. My usual load is either the Kent Fasteel 3.5 inch #4 1550 fps or the Blackcloud 3.5 inch #4 1 1/2 oz 1500 fps. I could tell there was a reduction in lead with these. I was expecting less pattern density but was extremely pleased that these killed birds just as effectively as the larger shells with considerably less recoil. I shoot a Remington 870 Super Mag with the stock Remington Mod choke. Shots were usually 40-50 yards. I ran out of these since I only had one box and what little was left of a box of 3.5 inch Blackcloud #4s. I had a box of blackcloud 3.5 inch BBs in case I came across a goose, and I noticed the high velocity #4s definitely killed better than the BB sized shot on the small divers out on the lake and equally well on larger ducks out to 40 yards. I whatever the brand, I have found that #4s as fast as i can get them (1550 fps and up) have worked the best from the small divers to large mallards and these shells are one of, in not the best of the bunch
