I use a 7 power for pitching a jig in heavy cover and a 5 power for throwing traps and topwater. Couldn't be happier with my purchase.

I rarely ever participate in reviews but this one deserves one. This rod is exceptional in feel and response. Although the price is more than most people probably expect to pay, it is worth every penny!
One must purchase one to experience what I am talking about.

This is my favorite rod by far. I have the 6'10" mh fast for worm fishing and I absolutely love it. Great sensitivity and more backbone than you would think for a rod with this taper. If your on the fence do yourself a favor and buy it.

Flipping, pitching, lizard dragging, Carolina rigs, Jigs, and large soft plastics is what I would use it for.A:Â
Great for pitching plastics and jigs. Works as a Carolina Rig rod and more. Great all-around rod that is light and has great sensitivity. Not too stiff. Can pitch 1/4oz weights easily. Will pull fish out of standing timber once you get them on.Answers

Putting 2 great products together would be a great idea. Ive owned energy's and both of those rods. I believe they would work great together. I have a quantum smoke on my T7 and I wish it was an energy.A:Â
It is a great match, I have the 6 1/2 foot medium heavy cara matched with a 7.1.1 gear ratio quantum energy reel. It is as if they were made for each other.Answers

The reaction rods are cranking rods. I believe they are a fiberglass graphite mix. The T7's are awesome application based rods. And I do mean awesome.A:Â
The only differance is that the Reaction rods have a parabolic bent to them.A:Â
The reaction series rods have a slower action than the T7. These rods are designed for reaction type baits, i.e. crankbaits, spinnerbaits, etc. These rods have a slower action so that when a fish bites one of these faster moving baits it gives it time to inhale it instead of the angler setting the hook and pulling it away from it. I have a few of the reaction series and a few of the T7's and love both. They are technique specific and cover the specified technique perfect. My favorite is the Mike McCelland heavy cover rod. It's perfect. Allows you to pick up to see if a bite is a fish or just cover without pulling your bait out of the fish's mouth. These are by far my favorite rods to fish with.Top 500 Contributor

I have never used the Reaction series, but I have seen them in stores. I own 5 of the Cara T7's and I cannot tell a difference between the two. If you are thinking about getting one you will not regret you decision. This is by far one of the best rods I have ever fished with !!!!1 of 1
