I lost access to an old FX3 and wanted to save money, so I bout a less expensive brand (has fold out speakers and legs that fold down). Went out with it about 10 times and had to ask myself why I pack it around as I called in no predators and am confident I can make better sounds with my mouth and or a diaphragm. The sounds sounded like they were recorede in a bathroom stall with a man making the noise. Sent it back and spent twice as much on the FoxPro Fury 2 and could not have been happier.
Whenever I buy second best, I end up with the best eventually, so it saves money to buy the best to begin with. The sounds fox pro has is what really make it worth the price. They are actual animals and the player plays them loud and clear. My average is a coyote coming in about 50% of the time, at least. I bow hunt them, so my success rate is under 10%, but what can you expect.
If you can afford a fox pro, then this is what you should buy. If you are on a budget, then save up to buy the low end fox pro, as these may not be quite as loud, but they use the same exact sounds as the high end models. Most "made in china" value priced calls use man made mouth calls and not the real thing. If you are calling to educated predators, you will have a hard time using anything but the real deal.
