Excalibur X-ACT Mechanical Broadheads 4.6 5 9 9
Excalibur X-ACT Shot two deer a half hour apart at under 25 yards and neither broadhead had any blades open. The arrows got comlpete pass through shots with no blade deployment even after hitting the ribcage on both deer. Both deer lost due to no blood trail on blood soaked arrows. Stay away from this product as the clip rings are too tight for blade deployment. October 2, 2008
Awesome blade I just purchased a Ten Point Stealth SS from Bass Pro a few weeks ago. I put these blades on the arrows that came with the bow. This past Saturday I went hog hunting on my friends farm. Five huge hogs came into view and finally came within range. Fired at one at 32 yards and made a good hit in the front shoulder. She immediately went down and then got up and ran about 15 yards. This broad head left a huge blood trail. The arrow broke when she fell leaving the broad head at the spot she fell. The rest of the arrow was hanging out leaving about three inches of arrow with vanes in her. All I can say is that I am sold on this set up. February 11, 2014
Good choice I purchased a new crossbow this year. I got two bucks a 7-point and a 8-point. The arrow shot completely through both deer. I do recommend taking the broadhead completely apart and cleaning it if you reuse it. I reused the first arrow and the broadhead did not fully open with the second deer. I am overall pleased with the broad head and will purchase this one again. October 9, 2010
IT WORKS!!! I recently purchased Excalibur Equinox crossbow - awesome bow - the first three deer I shot were pass thru shots with standard broadhead but I found little blood trail and no deer - I switched to these and WOW!!! - it looked like Jack the Ripper hit the next two deer - blood everywhere and deer fell within 20 yards - I highly recommend these for the kill shot! The 100 gr will shoot faster than the 150 gr. Just reset you scope.

There are no practice blades, but there are packs of 9 blades sold seperately for about $20. I was shooting 150 grain and after switching to the 100 grains, I gained about 9 FPS and went from a 6" drop from 20 to 30 yds, to about a 3" drop. In my Equinox, they shot faster, held better groups, and performed great. Using a Rinehart brute target, I have put over 12 shots with one broadhead and have no damage to the blades whatsoever.

A:
No, you do not get practice blades. Each 5 grain reduction in arrow weight provides a speed increase of about 1 foot per second.
