I threw this seed down beside a creek which got sun and shade. Two weeks later the seed grew to about 4 inches in length. The deer were loving it coming every morning and afternoon. It stayed through the whole season! Blends in with other plots of grass too!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by VRRanch59 great product
After doing everything the directions said not to do this product is thriving.
1.Mined property all shale..no top soil.
2.Planted on a hillside..NOT level ground.
3.Did NOT use any lime, or starter fertilizer.
Used my rock rake on my tractor to make shallow rows then used my bucket flat on the ground going the opposite direction to cover up. Planted before a fall shower. The product in this picture has been growing for about a month!
GREAT product!!

I bought a bag of this stuff and just used a yrad rake to clear the ground for my plot. Threw the seed down and it it once more with the rake. After one week only one piece of rye came up. I mixed some liquid miricle grow in with a gallon of water and put it down on week two (just clumps of growth at that time). Got a good rain or two and it was over 6 inches high in one week. Everything is coming to this plot. Deer eating, pigs sniffing (not rutting though) even racoons playing on the cool grasses. I've even got pics of deer laying on it after eating in the daytime.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by TreeSquatter Grows Thick, Even When Extremely DRY
I planted 1 bag of this the last weekend of August after the hottest & Driest summer Oklahoma had ever seen last summer. It hadn't rained in over 80 days. raked ground, threw seed down with hand & hand watered once, it only rained 2 times after planting it & grass GREW IN ONE MONTH, thick & tall!!! Have included pic, it was taken after farmers cut the crop & while doing so they also cut my grass in half. I was hunting muzzleload & 150lb buck walked straight past my corn & started eating the grass. Will definitely plant again next season!!!

would this be considered baiting if you left it up during deer season in maAnswers
A:Â
yes, it will work in the woods, just make sure you rack it out to get all the dead leaves off the forest floor. You want it to be as close to dirt as possible. You would have to check MA wildlife to see what their definition of baiting is. It should not be considered baiting because it is technically growing, and it would be a food plot. But at the same time im not in MA and im not a game warden.A:Â

Does this product need a lot of water or sun? Does it only last one year or will some of it come back for a few years.Answers
A:Â
Used it this year, yes it needs water, but not alot. Sunlight, more the better, but where mine is planted it gets moderate sunlight and its already coming in nice and thick. Just make sure you use fertilizer and lime with it to make it come in thick and green.Answers
A:Â
1/2 acre or less depending on how much you seed. If you seed heavily, you will get thicker but less coverage. If you spread seed out thinner, you will cover more acreage, but will not come in as thick. brassica, clover, and another type of green.A:Â
bag claims 11,000 sq feet which is 1/4 an acre. Clover, Brassica, and CloverAnswers
