I tried this about 5 years ago. Had very poor results that 1st year. Unfortunately, my hunting rights changed that year, and I did not get to hunt the property where I originally set this out. I did get to hunt the place next to it, and I could see the spot where I put it out the first year. The deer were using it every now and then, even after not being refreshed for over a year. Maybe it just took that long to activate. I have seen and used other products that work better. Of course if everyone in the county is using this, then the deer probably won't care about your site. Of course anything is better than nothing.

i put out this bait 2 weeks ago and checked it last week, and there was no sighn of deer. i had some corn out right by it (which the deer normally kill), but neither of them was touched. i dont know if i gave it enough time or if it spooked the deer. hopefully i just didn't give it enough time.

This product is great
I saw this product in the store and i thought i would try it out. It turns out it works great! I put it out next to my corn and the next morning i returned an there was a 5 inch hole in the ground where thry had ate the dirt roots and all. I would recommend this product to anyone.

not much luck
I poured 2 bags of Deer Cane on either side of the feeder 5 weeks ago, they have been eating the corn, but have not touched the Deer Cane.

Yes it will still work but you have to do it properly. You have to dig a whole and mix it in with the dirt. But, you will notice that usually only use the mineral when it rains. They like soft ground because it makes for easy digging and licking.
yes. you can mix it with water and yes you can poor it on the ground. BUT with the past 8 years of using the deer cane poweders i have found that if you live in an area where u get plently of rain in the fall the best thing to do is dig a hole jus big enough for the bag, but a few decent size cuts in the bag, and set the bag in the hole with the cuts facing down, and the sprinkle about a cups worth of the powder on the ground. there are several ways to set this stuff up but like i said it depends on the area.
