Took this little stove 5 days on the AT backpacking. It was my only cooking method. It rained one night fiercely and most of the group couldn't light their stoves in the rain, so they had to resort to their emergency meal bars, but not me. I lit the fuel cube under my poncho and placed it on the stove with my cup of water. I squatted in my poncho holding a corner over the stove....not so much to protect the fuel cube but so the rain wouldn't cool my water. I got a nice boil & rehydrated my dinner no problem and had enough hot water to make a cup of hot tea - a treat in my hammock while the cold rain pounded our shelters. The cubes fit nicely in the folded stove and the stove fit nicely in my 16 oz metal cooking cup. I took 1 cube for each meal and 2 spare cubes. I placed my cooking kit in a cut ladies stocking for a light weight compression sack - a complete compact cooking kit!.Light weight and functional. The walls of the stove can be folded in 2 different angles so you don't need to bring a wind screen. Esbit fuel cubes don't stink like the other fuel brands, which was a big factor for me choosing this brand. The cubes burn 10 - 12 minutes on avg for me. the cubes are light weight compared to bringing messy alcohol for jet stoves. LOVE THIS STOVE. It functions as a high priced stove. The quality is sound. Light but not flimsy! Trust me, this stove gets hot. You won't be disappointed.

This product performs as it should. One cube burns for about 10 minutes and using a MSR 1.1 liter pot, it boiled 2 cups of water in about 7 minutes. Not a roiling boil, but a boil none the less. For preparing freeze dried meals that require just adding boiling hot water, this works perfectly. It is indeed pocket size, but is stable on the ground, and held my stove well. The stove is proprietary with the cubes, so if you don't have the cubes, you may be out of luck. 4 cubes store neatly in the stove while folded, so 4 hot meals and it takes up much less room than a gas powered stove if you are just on an over night trip. An effective little stove for packing or emergencies.
