All 3 lanterns did not work.
Very difficult to unscrew the bottom and extremely difficult inserting and removing batteries.
I put them back in the mail the next day for my refund.

Having worked with LED lights in the past, I was expecting this to be a bit brighter or that the range with the gradient dial to greater. As it is, it does provide light that can be adjusted as advertised. It is compact and has a thin protective plastic where glass would normally be in a traditional lantern. The LED lights are not replace-able and the unit will have to be tossed instead of repaired or maintained in the future. I think that it serves it's purpose well though and it works as engineered.
