I was very embarrssed when family came over to eat icecream for the very first time and this machine would not even turn to make icecream. The lid keeps slipping! Do not buy this machine! You will regret it!

I make ice cream every sunday in the summer. The motor stopped working after the second time I used it. The hand crank is all plastic and broke almost instantly

Rated 4 out of 5 great purchase
This is a great ice cream maker. I used the electic portion to do all the early work then switched to the hand crank to finish it off. Hand cranking it at the end seemed to make the ice cream harder.

I bought this ice cream back in the middle of the summer of 2011. I have made many batches of ice cream, at least 30, with no complaints or problems at all with the motor. The only time the motor stops is when the ice cream is done. I like the size of the ice cream maker, more than enough for the whole family. I have not tried the hand crank though.
