I am going to pair this with a Shimano Sedona 2500. Mainly fish plastic right now. Do I need to use braid in order to take full advantage of the sensitivity on this rod? I usually use 10 or 12lb mono.

A:
Great question! You are correct in that braid enhances sensitivity due to its low stretch. Fluorocarbon line will also provide great sensitivity. It's a matter of choice between the two lines. Braid is much stronger given a comparison with line diameter, however fluorocarbons are engineered to virtually be invisible once they are in the water (most, however not all, are this way). I have provided a great document by one of our pro staff regarding this information in hopes that it may help you in selecting a line. If you have further questions, feel free to call us or email us at any time.
