I was a little hesitant to by the Edgecraft 12, it had some bad reviews, but a lot of good ones too. I didn't make a mitake on this one. This sharpener puts an edge on like you wouldn't believe! Started with the kitchen knives, then my hunting knives, then my filet knives, now I'm sharpening the neighbors knives! Every knife comes out RAZOR sharp! The three stages even put a razor edge on a butter knife!!! My wife wasn't happy about it! You won't be disappointed with this sharperer!

I had a very good hunting knife, made from a file. It of course became dull (after skinning about 20 deer & hogs). Never could get ANY sharpener to put the razor edge back on it.....UNTIL I bought the EdgeCraft Diamond hone. Within 30 minutes of opening & reading instructions the knife would shave you. I showed my wife, then of course had to sharpen all the kitchen knives. My wife was very impressed with the results also.
This is truely the only sharpener I have ever owned that will put a razor edge on any knife I own. Just takes a few tries to develope the "feel", then its off to the races. I also really like the fact you can sharpen for differant jobs, such as kitchen, hunting, or just touching up, it does it all.

Also will it sharpen thicker hunting knives, say 3/16 in. ?Answers
A:Â
Neither. You guide the knife through the sharpener. It takes a little practice, but by your second or third knife you'll get the feel of it.A:Â
No, it has a collar that tightenes down when turned (like an exacto knife holds its blades.)It should sharpen anything, but it's really not a volume sharpener. It's better for small blades, blade tips, fish hooks, etc.
