Rated 5 out of 5Â by phishinphool Great Portable Product
I had the opportunity to use this unit on a fly-in trip in Ontario recently, and I thought it worked very well. Particularly in zoom mode, it clearly identified walleyes and lake trout that appeared to be sitting belly to the bottom, but that I was able to catch after spotting them on the screen. The power-use is good also, as it appeared I had 1/2 of my battery life after 4 1/2 days of fishing. Very good investment for portable fishing applications.

Great Fish finder, Easy to use and shows clear and accurate structure. I converted this unit to run off a 12 volt battery pack, by hard wiring a cigarette lighter plug to the battery pack.It works great and saves money on batteries

Our fishing trip was great to the Upper Michigan. Unfortunately we never had the chance to use my new fish finder. I look forward to using it next winter on our lake.

Yes, you can use this unit for Ice Fishing. However, you might make sure you have this unit in a case like the one in the photo below to help with the cold temperatures. ThanksExample http://www.basspro.com/Lowrance-X4-...

I used it for 4 1/2 days on a trip recently and still had 1/2 of the battery life left, so it was pretty good.Details:Â
can this be used on the pond prowler from bass pro and how does this work is there a piece that goes into the waterAnswers
A:Â
You can use your unit on your boat, take it to the dock, on a float tube, on an ice-fishing trip, or use it as second sonar in a friend's boat. Because of the style of the portable transducers, you would have no problem using this on a pond prowler or any other style boat. This has a Suction Cup Transducer. Do not let the bracket extend below the hull, because water pressure against it can cause the suction cup to come off at speed.

Yes, this case is sealed, waterproof; suitable for saltwater use.CAUTION:
When using the unit in a saltwater environment, we strongly recommend that you shut off the power supply to the power cable when the unit is not in use. When the unit is turned off but still connected to a power supply, electrolysis can occur in the power cable plug. This may result in corrosion of the plug body along with the electrical contacts in the cable and the unit's power socket. In saltwater environments, we recommend you connect the power cable to the auxiliary power switch included in most boat designs. If that results in electrical interference, or if such a switch is not available, we recommend connecting direct to the battery and installing an inline switch. This will let you shut off power to the power cable when the unit is not in use. When you are not using the unit, you should always shut off power to the power cable, especially when the power cable is disconnected from the unit.
