These are as good as any high priced circle hook on the market. They are also a fraction of the price. I use them on my jug lines because they seldom gut hook a fish, never rust, and have a great hookup ratio for both big and small cats!

Selected as you were out of 5.0 circle hooks. I also purchased some 25 lb. Berkley big game that was defective. It continuously snapped; not at the leader, but in the middle of the line.

I looked up all the Eagle Claw Circle Sea hooks, and these are the closest. These hooks are wonderful, never gut hook a fish. Catfish seem to hook in the top or bottom of the mouth, but that may be the chicken livers.
Here is a picture of a sunfish that managed to hook itself on a catfish rig, size 3/0 Circle Sea 197G hook. It was hooked in the corner of the jaw, on the opposite side, stealing the chicken liver. The sunnie was only 6 inches long.
I fish a two hook rig under a large float made for a pool noodle. Catfish make the float bob up and down. They hook themselves on the Circle Sea hooks, and drag the float away. I just tighten the line and push the hook past the barb.
These hooks really do work!

I have been skeptical of circle hooks till I caught an equal number of catfish on each of two poles side
by side with a #2/0 aberdeen on one and a 5/0
Eagle Claw circle sea on the other...
I use 25# line on one of the poles(spinning) and 30#
on the casting rod and I'm not sure which it was but
with those line strengths I can easily straighten a
5/0 circle sea if it gets caught on a rock so you don't loose your whole end rig because the line broke,
but there plenty strong enough for the smaller catfish
that a hook that size should be used for...and the larger sizes have larger wire diameters..so...
