Have used these in the past and they are great for catching small blue gill. My brothers and I use them out on the colorado rive to catch bait fish and they are known to swallow hooks. The long shaft makes it a breeze to get the hook back out. They have a big problem finding these in large quantities in CA and I've had problems getting them as well except for the Bass Pro here in TN.
The downfall is the shipping is more then the shipping, have to pay $5 on a $4.89 item that weighs hardly anything. and that's standard mail But when it's the only place to get it locally your stuck with paying it. If I had to mail it back, it would cost less then $2.

works great with crickets. i have also used with crawler pieces and wax worms-helps to some extent on those swallowed hooks

The only hook to use for large blue gill and red ear/shellcracker. I suggest you order from the Bass Pro catalog. Hard to find in small bait shops and your will pay 3x. I drove 60 miles to a Bass Pro and they did not stock them again order from catalog.
