Used for Years
For as long as I can remember I have used Eagle Claw hooks. The short shanks keep most fish from swallowing them and from slipping off. These hooks have never let me down. Once it bites, it stays.

great hook
These hooks work great on fluke. They don't attack a hook like most fish so the circle sets itself.

Great For Pitch Baiting
I have used these pretty extensively on the East Cape of Baja live baiting sails, marlin, dorado, etc. Normally use 8/0 to 12/0 depending on the size of the bait. I have caught a lot of sails and marlin up to 250lb with excellent results.

Are circle hooks effective on bass when using live bait such as worms or minnows?Answers
A:Â
Circle hooks will work on any type of bait that a fish is trying to swallow.A:Â
Yes Circle hooks are great for live bait fishing for bass. I would recommend only using them if you are using minnows because it is hard to put the worms on them. I use #3/0 size for largemouth and smallmouth bass and have had no problems.Images for this Answer
