These Eagle Claw® Aberdeen Hooks offer extra width between the point and shank which makes them perfect for baiting with minnows. The extra light wire design works to minimize excessive puncturing to help keep minnows alive longer, while Eagle Claw's special tempering process allows their Aberdeen Hooks to flex before breaking making them ideal for fishing bush water for crappie.

Thanks again eagle claw When i was younger i swore by these i loved the ones that came with a mono leader for easy tying. great hook for worms or minnows they also come in really small sizes wich i could catch bait fish with. Ausome hook over all nothing fancy just catches lots of fish. "practice catch and release" February 22, 2008
Great Value! I use the smallest hooks for panfishing, its very durable and one hook seems to last a while. I had the same hook on my rod for two years and ive just used it this year, and its still going strong. If you havent used one i recommend you try it and you'll be amazed. June 3, 2008
gold not very shinny I was not verry impressed with the shinnyness of the gold hooks. They were dull and tarnished looking. All other gold hooks that I have purchased have kept their gold shine for years and these eagle claw hooks came to me from the store with a grey tint to them. June 6, 2011
Great Hooks Unbeleiveable performance for brim and crappie! Holds bait well and is thin so it won't kill minnows. These hooks are great, especially in bleeding style. July 24, 2007

Number 8 is a small hook. You can even get a size 10, which I like for panfish.

I like the Aberdeen hook, size 10. I use Eagle Claw or Mustad. The Aberdeen has a long shank which makes it easier to get out if the fish swallows the hook.

A #6 to #10 hook with a long shank would be best since the long shank is easier to remove from a blue gill's small mouth. Item number 38-455-600-08 on this page would be a good choice.
