Top of the line. I have bought cheaper copies of the eotech in the past and they all pale in comparison . The eotech holds its zero at all times after hundreds of rounds

I researched red dots extensively before I made a decision to purchase the EOTech. When I read a comment from a Marine who had ditched his issued Aimpoint (an $800 rig I might add) for the EOTech in combat that tore it. I had to have one. I am very, very pleased with the purchase. Operation is extremely simple. I went with this particular model because it uses standard AA batteries. It is a little longer as a result, but this is mounted on my "end of the world" rifle, and I'm sure that in a crisis AA batteries will be much more common than some oddball sized Li batteries. The quality of the sight is immediately apparent. Fit and finish is top notch, and it can be mounted/dismounted with a nickle as the only tool. Target acquisition is very rapid, and the field of view is vastly superior to a scope style sight where you're looking through a tiny circle. Accuracy is as advertised, though to achieve it you;ll have to shoot the rifle from a rest because at 100 yards with no magnification you can't really see well enough to achieve the rifle's or the optic's true level of accuracy. The forte of this optic is accurately shooting at intermediate ranges (25-50 yards). Anything closer and you're better off with a laser, anything further and you need magnification, which you can just add to this optic. Another benefit is that nothing is seen downrange since the optic is holographic; only you see the dot. A laser's weakness is that it can be seen by your enemy as well. That's a pretty tactical use, but this is a pretty tactical piece of equipment. If you want the best; you've found it.

The 512 model EOTech is a great optic. I bought this item based on recommendations from others and my own research. The optic came in a nice hard case with everything you need, including allen wrench and "big knob" bolt. I mounted the gun in about 2 minutes on a custom AR-15 in 5.56. I wasn't able to shoot immediately, but when I did make it to the range, the gun shot MOA at 100 without making an adjustment. The adjustable brightness and 65MOA/1MOA reticle made for very easy point and shoot, rapid target acquisition and repeatable POI. I'd recommend this anyone.
